What are the MDG Carbon Facility’s objectives?
UNDP has established the MDG Carbon Facility to leverage the significant benefits of carbon finance for the developing world. The core objectives of the Facility are to: Improve access to carbon finance by enabling the participation of a wider range of developing countries and project types — particularly in those countries that are currently under-represented in the carbon market; and Promote emission reduction projects that generate additional sustainable development and poverty reduction benefits, thereby contributing to all Millennium Development Goals.
