What are the maximum amounts that may be paid from the Travel Assurance Fund?
A. At the time these companies failed, there was neither a maximum or minimum amount specified. Nor was there an absolute right to payment of a claim against the Travel Assurance Fund. The current regulations set the maximum amount that may be paid to a claimant is $5,000 for each person covered by the claim and the maximum amount that may be paid in respect of all claims relating to an event is $2,000,000.
