18 hours is typically the maximum you’re allowed to take unless you have a high GPA and get special permission. But keep in mind this is a very full load, and if you didn’t pass several sections I’m not sure if you would be able to maintain good grades in all subjects with such a high course load. 30 hours to transfer (at an average of 3 hours per class) means you need to take 10 classes, plus your additional 3 remedial ones. That’s 13 classes before you can transfer. 18 hours a semester would average out to six hours a semester. So if you take a full 18 hours (six classes) each semester and one class the following summer – yes, you should be able to transfer that fall! If you are accepted, of course.
