What are the mapping improvements with SAP NW PI 7.1?
With SAP NW PI 7.1 a lot of mapping enhancements are introduced. One example is the user defined mapping, where you can reuse mapping definitions across multiple integration scenarios; the user defined functions are stored in the Enterprise Services Repository. This allows reuse of user defined functions and also supports the enhanced portability of user defined functions. Besides this additional functionality like graphical support for RFC and JDBC lookups are supported. Tool support to adjust mappings after structure changes, such as changes of the root node name and changes of the namespace in message types, and application of these changes to the source and target structure are also supported. For XSLT mappings JDK 5 is used which leads to performance improvements, more-advanced troubleshooting and providing a greater scope of functions.
