As of this writing (2004) there are four major titles in professional bass fishing. Two are points titles — Bassmaster (Tour) Angler of the Year and FLW (Tour) Angler of the Year — and two are championship titles: Bassmaster Classic champion and FLW Tour Championship champion. All are annual, meaning they change every year. The new (started in 2004) Bassmaster Elite 50 Series points title is also shaping up to be a major title in bass fishing.
