The 305 has a built in keyboard, more waveforms (mostly GM type sounds), and is about half the price of the MC505. However, the 305 only has 2 outputs compared to the MC505’s 6, and it doesn’t have the mixer section, D-Beam, or Megamix functions of the MC505. It is primarily geared towards studio use, while the MC505 is geared more towards live performances. That doesn’t mean that the 305 couldn’t be used live, and the MC505 in the studio however.
