PWP has 12 active wells that feed groundwater into various reservoirs. There are 18 reservoirs throughout the city that receive well water or purchased water from Metropolitan Water District. Jones Reservoir the largest will hold about 50 million gallons of water and Lida Reservoir is the smallest with a 0.43 million gallon capacity. The water is disinfected and blended in the reservoir then distributed to our customer through a pipeline network of 478 miles of mains throughout the city.
