What are the major components and requirements of CDP?
To earn a specific certificate as a law enforcement officer you must be a full time certified peace officer thru POPS and must possess a POPS certificate (except Chief Executives), have completed professional development courses in the particular “skill” areas and/or have completed specific required training courses, accumulated years of full time experience as an officer, and acquired educational training points or college degrees. As a telecommunicator, you must have completed required courses, accumulated years of full time experience, and either acquired educational training points or college degrees. In summary, the major components are training, experience, and education.
