The most significant change to game play is that the infractions formerly known as Fielder Encroachment, Catcher Encroachment, and the Pitcher Position Infraction have been consolidated into a single “Fielder Position Infraction.” Instead of a separate team warning and penalty for each type of infraction, the three types are now grouped together. A team will receive one Position warning for its first Position infraction of any kind, and all subsequent Position infractions of any kind will result in a free base to the kicker.
