What are the main types of jews eg orthodox?
You’ve been given wrong answers by the first two people. Firstly, Romans in the Christian bible has nothing to do with defining Jewish identity. Does the Quran get to define Christian identity? No? Same logic. There are several groups within Judaism – but we ALL adhere to the same core beliefs. The main groups are: Orthodox – very religious, and there are different sub groups within this Conservative – less religious but still traditional Reform – the most ‘relaxed’ of the three main movements There are also Progressive and Reconstructionist movements. All Jewish groups read the Torah as the holy or central text. All Jewish groups affirm belief in ONE G-d. Note: there is a specific set of Christian Missionaries who pose as ‘messianic jews’. – They are literally NOT Jews. They are Christians. There is NO ‘messianic’ sect IN Judaism. ***99% of Messianics were *never* Jews to START WITH. The 1% who *were* Jews are NOW ex Jews. They are now practising Christians. For more info:
