What are the main strategies put in place by the Commission to carry out its mandate in the near future?
The Commission uses a three-pronged approach of public education, corruption prevention and confrontation to fight corruption. The Commissions strategy highlights five core principles that fight against corruption must be an integral part of the overall public sector reform process; that all entities constituting the Pillars of Integrity shall demonstrate zero-tolerance to corruption in all its forms; that a comprehensive and multidisciplinary approach is required to prevent and combat corruption effectively; that success in combating corruption requires forging alliances amongst the state, civil society and the private sector and that in executing the measures against corruption, the supremacy of the law prevails.
