What are the main results of the 4th EWC survey?
(1) Four out of five workers say they are satisfied with their job, mainly on account of improved job security, a positive working atmosphere and good opportunities to learn and develop; (2) work-life balance is perceived most positively by those working regular and predictable schedules; (3) standard working hours are still the norm for most workers in Europe; (4) more women are increasingly moving into managerial positions, but managing other women; (5) work intensification is on the increase with rising numbers working at high speed and to tight deadlines; (6) exposure to physical risk factors and to poor design remain prevalent; (7) access to training has not improved, particularly for older workers.
