What are the main objectives/mission statement of the Point Lookout Lighthouse Preservation Society, Inc.?
Point Lookout Lighthouse Preservation Society, Inc. (PLLPS) was formed to restore the Point Lookout Lighthouse Buildings to the 1927 time period, and to educate the public on the rich history of the lighthouse. The PLLPS will provide volunteers for events that allow the public to access the lighthouse buildings and will collect donations from visitors. • Do you have fundraisers throughout the year? A fundraiser is planned for 2008. • How are funds raised? Membership dues, donations from visitors and special events (e.g. Spirits of Point Lookout). • In your opinion, what are the most interesting, or highlighted features of the park? The lighthouse buildings and the Civil War sites, such as Fort Lincoln and the monument at the park entrance. • Is there an annual fee to become a member or volunteer?
