What are the main innovation projects ThyssenKrupp Elevator is working on?
The center is structured around five strategic mainstays for innovation applied to the projects we are working on: Accessibility, Mobility, Modularity, Sustainability and New Materials. At the ThyssenKrupp Elevator Innovation Center we have developed the iwalk: A modular and sophisticated horizontal walkway for passengers accessible to the disabled, wheelchairs and prams, which can be installed in any infrastructure or historical environments, permanently or temporarily with no need for civil work. The iwalk was awarded the Accesit Impulso prize for Technological Development this year by the Economic Development Institute of the Asturias Region. Technology is developed at the ThyssenKrupp Elevator Innovation Center applied in practice in more than 60% of passenger boarding bridges installed around the world every year.
