The main goal of the EU -although they won’t admit it openly – it to form a federal United States of Europe, centrally controlled by EU Commissioners (appointed by the different national governments, NOT elected), with a rubberstamp EU Parliament (which has no real power and is just a talking shop) to give the appearance of democracy. This entity would have a single currency, a single tax system,it’s own army, and a President and cabinet appointed by the EU Commissioners, who are appointed by their governments (again, not elected). The US would thus be excluded from European affairs and, with a bigger population and bigger economy, this United States of Europe would be more powerful than America and therefore, in the view of its proponents,the dominant global power. The main goal of the European Union is to build and create what Winston Churchill once described as “The United States of Europe”. In spite of all the rhetoric and propoganda, that’s exactly where we’re heading. All any of us ever need do is wait and bide our time. The majority opposed to the creation of a “United States of Europe”, are probably of the older generation, of which I am a proud member. The one worry I have about a United States of Europe is the lack of accountability, which is already evident within the EU setup and which I believe will only get worse. I think we are heading for serious problems and conflict if something is not done to bolster the ‘democratic’ ideals which were at the root of the creation of the original EEC (European Economic Community).
