What are the MAIN conflicts in “The Good Earth”?

I have to admit, it’s been a while since I read this book. I would say the book is divided into two sections by its two main conflicts. First, man v society conflict as Wang Lung first makes his way in the world, trying to establish a stable home for himself, and hardships such as the flood mar his way. The second half is family conflicts as Wang Lung brings home Lotus, causing continual strife among his children. Later, his children ultimately turn away from the values he had set up for them; this is exemplified by a scene very late in the book, where Wang Lung is reminding them to never sell the land.
