What are the main components of a home security system?
• Main console are the “brains” of the security system. The main console has an LCD in its front panel to inform the owner of the system status. It can be placed in any convenient place. It requires AC power supply. • Magnetic Contacts and vibrating sensors protect doors and windows. A magnetic contact consists of two separate units: a magnetically actuated switch and a magnet. Typically, the magnet is attached to the door and the switch to the door frame. When the door opens, separating the two, the system is triggered. Vibrating sensors can be affixed to window’s grill, etc . It will trigger the system when vibrated. • Sirens (Interior and Exterior) alert your family to emergency conditions by sounding an alarm. Exterior sirens are normally mounted in a box and located under the eaves. A strobe light is frequently attached to the box. During an alarm the pulsating light should attract attention to the alarm.
