What are the main challenges Starwood is facing in the area of Human Resources?
The biggest challenge in the HR area is really in the field of getting the right people in the right positions. In this moment in time, the company is growing a lot. We are growing very much. We are going to add a lot of hotels over the next couple of years and the biggest challenge is to find the right persons. That is also why we are now looking outside hospitality to see if there are other people that are interested in positions with us. I am a great believer of the fact that you do not have to have a hotel education background to be able to work for us. I think there are a lot of people out there who would love working in our industry and who we just need to get to. We are working a lot and very hard on the image of the industry because many people think that hotels are only about service.
