What are the main aspects of Egyptian religion?

0

The ancient Egyptian religion was based on many gods (polytheism), except for during the reign of Akenaton who worshiped the sun god. The Egyptians at one time had as many as 2000 gods and goddesses. For example, Horus, their sky god, had the head of a hawk, and body of a human. They considered animals such as the bull, the cat, and the crocodile to be holy. Their two chief gods were Amon-Ra and Osiris. Amon-Ra was believed to be the sun god and the lord of the universe. Osiris was the god of the underworld. The ancient Egyptian are considered to have been one of the most religious people ever. Everyone looked forward to their heart being judged on a scale with a feather on the otherside.
