What are the long-term goals of the Novell OpenCourseWare initiative?
Novell OpenCourseWare is part of a larger Open Education initiative sponsored by Novell Training Services that includes Open Access (such as the Novell OpenCourseWare site) and Open Collaboration on development of training materials. We expect the library of Novell OpenCourseWare materials to eventually encompass all educational materials developed by Novell Training Services that can be practically shared and reused by others. Another goal of Novell OpenCourseWare is to encourage the development of groups or communities around the course materials. Individuals participating in these informal groups can coach, mentor, and support each other in their learning, adding significant value to the materials themselves. Finally, we feel a strong commitment to the Open Education community to extend the reach and impact of the worldwide OpenCourseWare initiative.
