What are the long term and short term effects of smoking weed?
There are no real long and short term health problems with smoking marijuana. The few things that have been documented through clinical research include problems with learning and information retention (mentioned by another poster), and the possibility of aspergillus infections (that’s a mold that grows on pot). The biggest danger is the laws where you live. Some can be quite harsh. And depending on your age, if you have a drug-related arrest you cannot get financial aid for college (in the U.S.). Marijuana does not kill brain cells. That myth was started by the Nixon administration in 1971 after they paid for fraudulent “research” to prove that pot was neurotoxic. The research has never been able to be replicated by legitimate scientists. Research the laws where you live and see if it is worth it to you to take that risk. The legal piece is often quite dangerous.
