What are the logistics and transportation advantages for companies doing business in Brazil and Mexico?
JG: Mexico’s manufacturing capacity and proximity to the United States are obvious advantages. Most of its consumer demand is still in the United States, but as the economy strengthens it will create more opportunities to target the domestic market as well. Brazil’s explosive consumer growth and position as South America’s most progressive economy have created a space for logistics service providers and companies to make inroads there and help build it into a major manufacturing hub. As economic growth slowly filters out to other South American countries, companies will be able to support these markets from Brazil as well. IL: What areas need to be addressed?
