What are the little white pitted spots on my pool plaster?
These unsightly spots are referred to as spot etching. This is common in many plaster finishes along with a variety of other issues. Studies suggest that high CYA or stabilizer levels are part of the cause. Hamlin Pools’ professional recommendation is to keep CYA with in recommended levels (see “Maintaining Your Pool”) via “Auto Drains” or draining your pool and to keep the pools’ water balanced using the Saturation Index.
