What are the limits for investment in the Indian Stock Market?
Investment in equity shares by NRI’s is subject to an overall ceiling of 10% of the total paid-up equity capital of the company concerned. Indian companies may however, resolve by a general body resolution to allow NRIs invest shares up to 24%, 40% or even 100%. The percentage limit is company-specific. Generally, Indian companies have a limit of 24% of share capital.
