What are the limited factors associated with bacterial growth?
Food availability (less food = less growth), Presence of necessary abiotic elements (oxygen/sulfur/nitrogen for metabolism, sunlight for photosynthesis, etc) Population density (too many bacteria in small area = less growth), Environmental hospitability (sucky conditions like low/high pH, low/high temperature, excessive UV radiation, etc = less growth), Presence of antibiotics (more antibiotics = less growth, unless the bacteria bear an immunity to the antibiotic)
