What are the limitations on how my recovery streamer is made?
Beyond the basic requirements of the rules, which are that it must be a “… single rectangular strip of thin flexible material such as paper or plastic that is at least five times as long as wide”, there is a lot of room for innovation. You can crease or fold it in any manner. You can put holes or slits in the middle of it as long as the edges are left straight and uncut to preserve the rectangular outline. You can fabricate it of several lengths of material glued or sewn together as long as the whole streamer is made of the same material and is rectangular, and the seams between the separate pieces are flat and continuous (no “air scoops”). Remember that the streamer (each streamer, you can use more than one) must be attached to the rocket by a single line attached to a single end of the streamer, and that this end must be one of the narrow sides of the rectangular streamer.
