What are the limitations of SRB, i.e 2TB of data, # of data entries?

There are practically no limits due to the SRB itself (address space of 64 bits). The underlying resources (e.g., file system) may have limits. At UCSD, SRB is managing 126 million files and 830 TB as of 9/18/06 SRB allows very long file names. However, the maximum length of a SRB file name is fixed and depends on the SRB version you are using. The maximum file size of a single SRB file depends on the underlying storage resource where the file would be stored. The number of files you can store depends on the database you use to support MCAT. Each file you store in SRB results in more tuples (rows) in MCAT database. Each database vendor will have their own limitation on the number of tuples (rows) that can be supported (usually this is a very very large number).
