What are the limitations of SPEEDALIGNERS™?
The SPEEDALIGNERS™appliance is not designed to change jaw relationships by moving all teeth in an arch bucally or distally. Jaw position changes may occur when teeth are taken out of crossbite or when specific maxillary teeth, or the entire anterior segment are labially advanced, freeing a trapped mandible. Class II & III cases can otherwise be treated with the patient’s understanding that any existing problems due to jaw relationships will typically remain so, though you can still often provide esthetic straightening. The best suited cases are those in which the teeth are only crowded and/or rotated. Multiple large diastemas can also pose a problem for SPEEDALIGNERS™, as can impacted teeth and other such anomalies. To determine case viability for our standard appliance we need to directly review and analyze the models for each potential case.
