I cannot answer for Australia, but in the U.S., we have codes for sanitation. This includes that equipment must be manufactured of “food grade material”. Which is a type of stainless steel. Also the food preparation of the food is exactly controlled and the sanitation of the food preparation, food storage and food serving areas. We use several national standards, but states also use their states “department of public health”.
