Vehicles can be towed from private property provided it’s properly posted at all entrances of the complex that receive vehicle traffic. This is per California Vehicle Code section 22658-(a). The signs on display must be in plain view and not less than 17 by 22 inches in size. With lettering not less than one inch in height, prohibiting public parking and indicating that vehicles will be removed at the owners expense.
