What are the latest theories on coffee and bladder cancer?
Since the publication of the Agency’s report in 1991, several studies about coffee and bladder cancer were made. A great amount of data was obtained in many of those studies about coffee and the risk of developing this type on cancer, and clearly excludes, after having into account other possible causes, that there is a distinct connection between coffee consumption and the risk of developing bladder cancer. In a recent study made in the Netherlands, in which 3,123 people participated, not only was not discovered any important connection in men, but a significant inverse connection was found in women, that is, lower risk in women who drank coffee.
