What are the latest advances in cataract surgery?

During the past few years significant changes have occurred in implant design. We now offer choices in vision correction which further reduce the need for distance and near correction after surgery. Several lens designs are available: Acrysoft ReSTOR® lens, Rezoom™ lens and the accommodating Crystalens and we will be happy to discuss these options with you. In addition the new Alcon Toric lens allows for a significant reduction in preoperative corneal astigmatism. This lens is an alternative to limbal relaxing incisions (LRI) a surgical technique performed at the time of cataract surgery to reduce Astigmatism. Dr DeCarlo will be happy to discuss these options with you.
