What are the known side effects of Yaz?
Mild Yaz side effects may include: • bleeding or spotting between periods • decreased sex drive • headaches • increased appetite • nausea and/or vomiting • vaginal discharge • weight gain • yeast infections A small percentage of women taking Yaz will experience these minor Yaz side effects. However, mild symptoms may persist and reveal other serious side effects, including: • blood clots • stroke • heart attack • deep vein thrombosis (DVT), blood clots that lodge in the body’s deep veins (particularly in the legs) and hinder healthy circulation • liver damage, indicated by jaundice (yellowing of the whites of the eyes and/or skin), dark urine or stomach pain • migraines • pulmonary embolism, blood clots lodged in the lungs that cause breathing difficulties and chest pain (Without emergency medical care, pulmonary embolism can be fatal.
