What are the key responsibilities of the WAG?
The WAG is an advisory group and its authority is largely derived from its ability to express the needs of the community within the constraints of the law. Its key responsibilities are to: • advise the Technical Advisory Group on matters of concern to the community • contribute to the education of the residents of the watershed on water quality issues • help identify contributing pollution sources in the watershed • assist in arriving at equitable pollution reduction allocations among contributors • recommend specific actions needed to effectively control sources of pollution • help develop and set in motion an implementation plan that will meet the “targets” identified in the TMDL …
