What are the key ecological issues facing Sydney?
The key is for us to connect with nature so that it nourishes our soul and gives us a sense of wellbeing and peace. When this happens we stop craving material things and transient, addictive pleasures and in turn have less need to ravish the earth’s natural resources for our happiness. The key environmental issue is really a spiritual one. What role does Australia have in setting the example on climate change? Australia has an incredible opportunity to catapult itself onto the world stage at a level that belies its relative size by demonstrating moral and inspirational leadership on climate change – if Australia can’t change then no one can. Do you think Kevin Rudd is the man to deliver on this? Kevin is still too focused on economic growth and not enough on the wellbeing of Australians.
