What are the key components of the HEAN Project?
Innovative Mobile Monitoring: HEAN partnered with ScienceScope and Mobile Commons to develop an innovative HEAN “Eco Pac” that takes measurement of air and water pollution in a mobile package and transmits to a central data processing center. Global Mapping: A new combination of Google maps and HEAN data is allowing production of maps of HEAN site collected pollution data. The new website slated for first day of summer launch www.HEANaction.org will allow global users to view by map search. Community Priorities: A focus group model for collecting community information on environmental priorities has been fielded in Detroit and will be used by all sites to develop a community profile of environmental health concerns and priorities. Youth Environmental Scientists: HEAN sites have supported Youth HEAN Teams to conduct pollution data collection using mobile HEAN devices.
