The job requirements of a personal assistant vary widely! I have been a Personal Assistant to private clients in the Boston, MA area for 6+ years and I am now a coach and consultant to other PAs building their businesses. When it comes to hiring your own PA it is important to remember that your PA is a professional entrepreneur – not your lackey. PAs these days do everything from bookkeeping to professional organizing, event planning to household management, blogging and website building to social media management. PAs are also great for taking everyday tasks off your plate such as scheduling, travel arrangements, errands, gift giving, etc. IF YOU ARE A PA: Remember that YOU are an entrepreneur! YOU set the rules! My two rules as a PA – I don’t clean, and I don’t care for living things (children, pets, plants).
