What are the IVF success rates?
Success varies greatly depending on factors such as age, cause of infertility, weight etc. In 2001 the overall success rates for Australia were 21.1% of IVF or ICSI cycles with egg retrieval resulting in an ongoing pregnancy (at 20 weeks), this equates to 24.1% of cycles that had embryos transferred following an egg pick up. The rate of ongoing pregnancy for frozen embryo transfers was 15.0%.
