What are the issues that will need to be addressed in order to install an additional chiller in the chiller room?
The primary issues involved are cost and timing delays. The chiller room is located internal to the building, in the basement, below ground level. Installation costs are high for this type of installation. All of the work will need to be contracted by GSA, and appropriate feasibility studies and compatibility evaluations will need to be performed. From the time where the finances are available, to completion of the project, would be on the order of 10 months. Cooling for the BLDR-1 and BLDR-2 sites is provided in accordance with the RFP.
