What are the Internet bandwidth requirements for Spreed meetings (audio, video and presentations)?
The required Internet bandwidth depends on the number of participants within the meeting. For audio communication (VoIP) only a minimum bandwidth of approx. 20 kBit/s (0.02Mbit/s) times the number of participants will be required. For video and audio a bandwidth between of approx. 50 kBit/s (depending on video quality) and 120 kBit/s is required upstream (for downstream: 50 kBit/s – 120 kBit/s times the number of participants). Example: for a Spreed conference with 5 participants where each participant transmits both audio and video, each participant requires 50 kBit/s connection speed to the server (upstream) and 200 kBit/s downstream (4 x 50 kBit/s) bandwidth. Screen or desktop sharing requires about 50 to 3 MBit/s upstream bandwidth depending on the shared screen size and level of detail.
