What are the Internet access options?
There are several ways to connect to the Internet. The first is through 56K dial-up access. This is both the slowest and the least expensive. A dial-up account is available through most ISPs for $10 to $29 per month. ISDN is also a dial-up type of access, but requires a special type of telephone modem and special type of phone hookup to the phone company. The new digital cable modems or DSL modems provide for continuous access to the Internet at a speed to or less than ISDN. Unfortunately, DSL is not yet available in many areas. T1 and T3 connections are the fastest of all. The cost varies greatly depending on how far your office is from an Internet connection point. For a T1 or T3 connection, you should rely on the services of a local Internet consultant familiar with this type of Internet connection.
