What are the interactive exercises?
The interactive exercises include all of the exercises that are printed in the Working Mandarin for Beginners textbook in an online, self-correcting format. We have partnered with the online company Quia, who hosts the exercises. Any audio that is needed in order to answer the questions is also available on the Quia site. (Please see Quia’s system requirements for more information about playing these files.) The exercises are most often multiple choice questions, but they also include open-ended questions. The multiple choice questions are graded automatically by the computer because they are predetermined answers. The open-ended questions require various levels of participation by the teacher during the grading process in order to ensure that students receive the proper credit for their work.
