What are the injuries that qualify under the revised (1999) definition of the verbal threshold?
A21: The types of injuries that qualify are considered serious. Such conditions include: death; dismemberment; significant disfigurement or significant scarring; displaced fractures; loss of fetus; and permanent injury within a reasonable degree of medical probability other than significant scarring. It is important to distinguish between the verbal thresholds described on the NJAIRE Reportable Claim Determination Forms. Each form describes serious, but in some cases different, injuries.
