What are the indications for doing an EEG?
EEG is the most preferred cost investigation in patients with epilepsy or seizure disorder, which gives function information of the brain. (C.T. Scan & M.R.I gives structural information of the brain.) • Epilepsy or any seizure disorder. • Syncope (fainting or loss of consciousness), which is a common disorder due to various causes EEG, is the most useful test. • Non epileptic attack disorder(pseudo seizures or hysterical seizures) EEG is the most important test in diagnosis.
