What are the income sources of BlueSkies?
BlueSkies is a private non-profit (501(c)3) organization with diverse income sources. BlueSkies receives no public funding for children’s enrollment, and the children’s program relies on tuition to cover the full cost of care for the children. Gifts from individual donors and private foundations support a scholarship fund for the children’s program, which enables us to offer tuition assistance to approximately 20 percent of the families currently enrolled in BlueSkies. The Neighborhood Accreditation Center adult education program is heavily subsidized by foundation grants and individual gifts to cover the cost of instructors and administration. Donations from individual donors also support tuition assistance for students who cannot afford the registration fees. Student fees pay for the cost of registration at Cal State of the East Bay (Hayward), books and supplies.
