• Under section 40(1)(c) of the FOIP Act, a library can disclose the personal information needed to perform this service since the disclosure would be for, or consistent with, the purpose for which the information was collected. • The library should also discuss with the municipality the process for providing records to the library if a staff member asks to see records related to his/her employment. A decision may be needed as to who will handle requests, but the employee should have access in some way.
