Durham County Council employees do not transfer. If from 1st April 2009 they continue to be employed in the new unitary authority, it will be on their existing terms and conditions of employment and their statutory employment rights will not be affected. Any proposals for any organisational change/restructure, will be subject to full consultation with both employees and relevant trade unions.
