What are the implications for consumers?
The increasing market value of environmentally sustainable commodities means that more and more, these products are available on the supermarket shelves. Consumers are now faced with a choice of products, leading to the challenge of how best to support the reduction of land uses that can lead to ongoing environmental damage. To support Australian farmers, and to help prevent degradation that affects all Australians, we can choose to buy goods that are produced in sustainable ways, and select a different variety of products to support farmers who are growing a new range of goods.
