What are the impacts of school closure?
One of the reasons our district is so exceptional is because of the strong support of our community. The levies approved by Bellingham voters provide $21 million a year to our schools. This is an enormous amount of money that we cannot afford to lose. If the school district were to start closing schools, it would alienate entire blocks of voters, the district would lose the support of the town and the levies would not pass.
