Hours for the general public are as follows. Monday – Saturday entry from 10:00 to 3:30 PM with last exit at 4:45 Sundays closed except for the last Sunday of every month when museums are open and free. Long lines and crowding to be expected. Admission ticket to the Vatican Museums is valid for visiting the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel and must be used on the date of purchase. Advance purchase is not possible, and tickets are not refundable. A used Vatican museum ticket can also be used to enter the Vatican Historical Museum and the Lateran Apostolic Palace (by the Basilica of San Giovanni in Laterano in Rome).
